F.A.A.R. – The Dreamscape Project (Album)

(In his own words) I grew up listening to Sam Cooke and the indie albums my mom brought home.  After beginning producing beats and mixing (all the beats on The Dreamscape Project i produced myself), i was finally urged to put together a totally project that would not only highlight production but also the story telling that laced my normal acoustic singer/songwriter sets.  The combination became The Dreamscape Project, a concept album telling the story of loss, redemption and reconciliation.

Adrien Austin – Heartbreaker Cover (Video)

It’s not every day that a major artist sheds light on another hoping to one day be in their spot. When Brian Angel shared a quick clip on twitter and called this man his brother, I immediately had to find out what I was missing out on. Rapcine is proud to present the debut of the very talented Adrien Austin, doing his thing on his cover of Justin Bieber’s “Heart Breaker”. I can’t wait to hear some original music!!

Captain Casket aka Casket D – MAYDAY (Prod. by TaliBoom)

Casket D. born Joseph Salotto-Rodriguez (Also known as Captain Casket & Pastor Paper) was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. He fell in love with Hip-Hop at an early age inspired by the sounds of Wu Tang Clan, Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac and Bone Thugs & Harmony to name a few. As a teen he spent time on both the North & South side’s of his hometown Yonkers, influenced by his older cousin Scif and friends Theory & Iron Lungs, at the age of 14 he took his love for Hip Hop music and the streets he came from and decided to express his experiences through rap.

Rapping along side them he became the youngest member of the local group called “Area 51″ also known as “A51″ which later transformed into “Nu Unified” aka “N.U.” Consisting of the original members of Area 51 and the late J-Black. He recorded under the name Scel Dinero. After J-Black’s passing the group took different directions musically but remained close friends. He then changed his stage moniker to Casket D. & started focusing on a solo career under the independent imprint/rap crew that him and close friend Blaq Dollas founded, M.G.B. (Money Green Bosses).

He released his 1st official mixtape “A Captains Memoir” with D-Block’s DJ OP & childhood friend/crew member Go DJ Guap (formerly Dj Mr.Guap City aka Dj Guap) in ’08. His following project was a collaborative effort with close friend/crew member Jay Cinaster titled “Weapons Of Fate” released in early 2011 which received lyrical acclaim & was considered one of the most slept on mixtapes of the year in his area. Him and collaborator Jay Cinaster put together a small multi-city tour from NY to Texas performing songs off the project. 2012 was ground breaking for Casket, his “No Evidence” mixtape Hosted by Go Dj Guap released in early 2012 made an impact with fans and he shortly followed up with one of his most successful releases to date the highly anticipated “YBNVS”. The Song “S.O.S.” (Stories OF Suicide) garnered immense attention with listeners and Hip Hop bloggers in result increasing his musical following. He then capitalized off the success of the first installment and recorded and released in late 2013 the fan favorite “YBNVS II”. Along with a promo tour, spanning from NY down the east coast and across to Houston. “YBNVS II” is currently making noise nationwide and in other regions.

Casket has also been featured on many miscellaneous projects throughout the years and works closely with his M.G.B. Imprint & family (Jay Cinaster, TaliBoom, Pjay Johnson, Blaq Dollas, Packs, Go DJ Guap) long time friend Theory and has worked with the likes of Joe Budden, Ransom, Fat Pimp, Gt Garza, Felo aka Felony of Swisha House Records, Brian Angel of Day 26, plenty of DJ’s state side & internationally and has had placements in movie soundtracks and numerous writing gigs. Casket has performed shows in “hole in the wall”  lounges, college campuses, big city night clubs as well as for Hot 97 and BET events. He has been recognized musically by many prominent Hip Hop blogs, also by MTV along with Hot 97 & Power 105.1.

To date Casket remains a main focus in the rapidly growing MGB movement out of Lost Boro (gaining in fans and merchandise sales) and is currently in the recording process of his first full length LP “Grind Therapy” as well as wrapping up the finishing touches to “The 80 Loafs EP” and his “Psychedelic Wiseguy” with production entirely by (TaliBoom) scheduled for independent release sometime in 2015.

Casket has such raw “in your face” passion on tracks that it seems close to impossible to not get chills when listening. His ability to be able to give you heart felt music, superb delivery, intense story telling, yet at the same time being radio friendly & commercially valuable is what separates him from most. “A fine blend between the Golden Era and Modern Greatness”
